Two Forums You Ought to Visit
I found a lot of help at two dscussion boards:

Fordmuscle is more than a forum, it is a web magazine with lots of High Performance Technical Content for people that want to make Fords go fast. It does include a forum, though, that has become my Internet home.

The Ford Big Block 385 Series Engine Forum is a discussion board dedicated to the 429 and 460 Ford engines and their derivatives. The level of technical knowledge and exprience with these engines on that site is truly amazing.

<<< Those would be Blowmaster Mufflers. I had a little trouble at intial start up.

My Sources

First, I want to thank Jeff Powers for selling me a great car at a good price

Hamilton Machine in Lake Station, Indiana did great work on the engine block and crank. Give Jim a call at 219-962-3267

Everyone knows about Summit Racing. They have good prices on an astounding array of parts and a a very slick web site.

Fast Engine Parts had the best price I could find on a rebuild kit, including my Comp 268H cam

Portage Commons Auto Parts in Portage, Indiana has been a helpful and knowledgable parts store for me.

Chain stores have a bad rap, but Advance Auto Parts has proven to be very helpful with good prices. Once you learn how to use it, their web site is very slick. it even lets you check inventory in your local store.

Both Advance Auto and AutoZone have tool loan programs that have saved me a ton of money.

I also picked up important parts through Ebay Motors.

I also want to recommend Tom Monroe's books, The Engine Builder's Handbook and How to Rebuild Ford V8 Engines. They got this first-timer through!
